Stainless steel flanges will not corrode, pitting, rust, and are not easily worn. Stainless steel is one of the high-strength materials used in construction. Because stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, stainless steel flanges can ensure the integrity of structural components in engineering design.

Stainless steel flange connection is subjected to a temperature load of 573K on the flange table. The surface of the flange and pipeline is not insulated, considering the influence of the air layer between the bolt holes, the air layer between the upper and lower flanges, and the heat transfer on the surface of the flange on the temperature distribution of the system.

The primary design flaw of stainless steel flanges is that they cannot ensure no leakage. This is the lack of design: the connection is dynamic, and cyclic loads such as thermal expansion and fluctuations can cause movement between flange faces, affecting the function of the flange and damaging its integrity, leading to leakage.
